What people eat is heavily influenced by their religion, custom, traditions and culture. Food culture can be defined as habits, ritual practices, belief systems and lifestyle of cooking, eating, serving and celebrating food. Family history, heritage, ethnicities, social and political situations such as poverty and wars majorly influenced the food culture. Food is very representative of a city's culture. In order to really get to know a place and people, you've got to eat the food.
Now let us travel to the land where food is irresistible; Mexico. From tacos
to enchiladas we all have a favourite Mexican food. Its roots are Mesoamerican
cuisine. The Mesoamerican brought their own cooking techniques with them in
successive waves. The staple of the today's cuisines are all native to the
land over the centuries, it has led to regional cuisines that are influenced
by local conditions. Mexican cuisine also represents diversity and pride by
different geographic territories. Distinct ingredients and cooking styles are
used among the different states of the country.
Some Mexican cuisine include:
- Cemitas: Meat milanesa, panela cheese, avocado, onions, papalo, and salsa roja on sesame seed- covered bread.
- Garnachas: Tortillas fried in oil, then dipped in salsa an topped with beans, onions, cream, and cheese.
- Crema de palmitos: creamy soup made by puttering hearts of palm with chicken stock, green onion and garlic.
Mexican food is loved by millions because Mexican food is confirmed of a
series of delicious dishes and is recognized for its distinctive flavours,
as an intensive variety of recipes that have been passed from generation to
generation and today constitute is a great gastronomy attraction. Mexico truly has a beautiful cultural cuisine, food that is vibrant,delicious and fun. The thing
I love about food is it's a common thread that connects us no matter what
culture we come from. You have to taste the culture to understand it.
